Girls United Camp is an overnight program where campers stay in a lodge or cabin and sleep in bunk beds, and they are welcome to bring decorations to personalize their space. Each bunk group has at least one counselor staying with them, and all cabins are equipped with bathrooms and showers, with some cabins also having mini refrigerators for storing snacks. The camp includes luxury coach transportation to and from camp, using first-class buses equipped with restrooms, reclining seats, and 15" screen monitors to watch movies, and the trip is about 150 miles and takes about 2.5 hours each way.
All staff at Girls United Camp have been background checked and extensively trained for every situation at camp, and staff are described as strong, independent, kind, and compassionate role models. The leadership team includes Stacey and Joe Vogel as Founders and Camp Directors, Angie Artigiani and Mia Crane as Assistant Directors, and Ele Burnett as Medical Coordinator. The camp uses a Big Sister–Little Sister program that connects campers before and during camp, along with Camp Sister events such as shared meals and evening activities. The mission of Girls United Camp is to positively impact the lives of young girls in the community by providing empowering camps that promote growth, lasting friendships, and valuable mentorships, and it is committed to uniting girls and instilling confidence so they become strong, empowered young women. The program highlights core values that include believing in yourself, choosing gratitude, inspiring each other, being strong, confident, and brave, seeing the light in each other, and being the light for each other, and it states that camp plays a crucial role in helping kids build independence, self-reliance, and resilience. Girls United Camp has been voted BEST SUMMER camp in Petaluma.
