Hooves for Healing

Hooves for Healing offers riding lessons that include English and Western riding, dressage, jumping, equitation, Western pleasure, barrel racing, and trail riding. The program also includes equine-assisted therapy, art projects, obstacle courses, horse care such as bathing horses, learning about hoof anatomy, and identifying parts of the saddle and tack. Participants use interactive learning packets and games, and schools can arrange field trips that include these activities.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Riding lessons are available by appointment with sessions offered on weekends, and Equine Summer Camp typically runs from 9 am to 2 pm, four days a week.

Hooves for Healing was founded in 2020 as Loscutoff Equine Rescue and grew from rescuing horses to providing equine-assisted programs. The organization currently has five rescue horses involved in therapeutic programs and follows a philosophy that both horses and people can rescue each other. Riding instructors have over 40 years of combined experience.

Programs are designed to harness the healing power of horses while providing educational and enriching experiences and cater to all ages and skill levels. Equine Summer Camp is described as a unique and immersive experience for participants of all ages and skill levels, with thematic weeks such as Horses in History for older campers and Unicorn Week for younger campers focused on mythical and fantasy horses. The program also offers its facilities as a field trip destination for schools and offers summer camps as field trips for schools.

The mission of Hooves for Healing is to connect horse and human through compassionate teachings and shared experiences, with a focus on healing lives that have been damaged and creating a sanctuary where both horses and humans can thrive.
