The NorCal Interscholastic Cycling League states that its mission is to build strong body, mind, character, and community through the inclusive sport of interscholastic cycling. The organization highlights core values of Fun, Inclusivity, Equity, Respect, and Community. Leadership and staff include Executive Director Terry Curley, who is described as a bike industry veteran; Program Coordinator Kia Pratschner; Admin Manager Storm Glover; Program Director Hailey Childress; and board members Matt Adams (President), Christina Toms (Secretary), Joe Floren, and Noreen Irving.

The league notes that it supports student-athletes and the broader NorCal community, offers programming and scholarships, and has national partners. It seeks local or regional business sponsors to help get more kids on bikes. Community involvement also includes local volunteering and work by Program Director Hailey Childress to make mountain biking more accessible and impactful, and volunteer science and engineering support from board member Christina Toms to cycling and environmental non-profits in the North Bay.

In this fundraiser, 50% of funds raised go back to the team that raised the funds and 50% go to the league to support programming and scholarships, and raffle ticket sellers are celebrated with swag giveaways throughout the fundraiser. Tickets are sold until May 11th at 11:59 PM, with winners announced via email and at the Championship race.

Additional features include Race Crew opportunities and the NorCal News newsletter, which families can use to stay informed on events, updates, and news. The organization states that it will never share or sell personal information.

Testimonials from leadership and board members describe their personal experiences with cycling and the league. Executive Director Terry Curley says, “I love bringing my passion for the sport to the league and seeing the kids so stoked. It fills my heart to see kids of all ages and backgrounds getting the cycling bug and making some lifelong friendships.” Program Coordinator Kia Pratschner shares that before discovering the mountain biking club freshman year, they did not own a bike, and now they are “excited to share the opportunities mountain biking and the Nor Cal League offer with student-athletes that already love mountain biking and those that have yet to discover the magic.” Admin Manager Storm Glover states, “The world is a better place with more kids on bikes!” Program Director Hailey Childress says, “Any day on a bike is a great day,” and also notes, “Mountain biking changed my life, and if I can help someone else find that same positive transformation and the opportunities this sport offers, then I know I’m making a difference.” Board member Joe Floren describes mountain biking as “as much fun as skiing.”
