The club’s mascot is the Phoenix, reflecting rising from the ashes after a fire destroyed the training hall on May 1, 2011. Membership has included people traveling from as far away as Atascadero, Santa Maria, and Guadalupe.

The head instructor is Ken Guge, who serves as Head Judo Instructor at Central Coast Judo, with past head instructor Troy Wicker and kids class instructor/operations lead Chris Balsillie. Club members involved in maintaining the club include Troy Wicker, Ken Guge, Chris Balsillie, Llyn Hunter, Jody Dowell, and Nathan La Montagne. Concussion In Youth Sports Training For Coaches.

Central Coast Judo Club is a member of the United States Judo Federation and belongs to a Yudanshakai called Nanka, which provides Southern California and surrounding regions with resources, support services, organizational leadership, and events and programs to advance the sport of Judo.
