Tri-Valley Judo and Jiu-Jitsu offers training in traditional Judo techniques, randori (live sparring), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and wrestling. Tri-Valley Judo and Jiu-Jitsu was established in 2009. The program is led by Head Coach and Program Director Sensei Kevin Butler, who holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in Judo (Godan), is a 2nd Degree IBJJF Certified BJJ Black Belt, and is an International Gold Coach for USA Judo for over 15 years. Sensei Kevin has led US Teams as head coach or assistant coach in 15 countries, has coached two athletes at the Jr/Cadet World Championships and five athletes at the Pan American Championships Infantile/cadet, and serves as head wrestling coach of a local high school. His competitive record includes 2023 Pan American Champion Mexico, 2022 Vet World Championships Poland 7th, ranked #1 in the USA M6 -81k, 2023 Asian Championships Nagoya, Japan 2nd, and 2020 BJJ Masters World Champion at the black belt level, and he is also a National Referee and a retired Fire Battalion Chief with 32 years of service.
