Kalaa Art & Design Summer Camps

Kalaa Art & Design Summer Camps offer Summer Half-Day Camps where students take part in activities such as drawing, painting, canvas painting, birdhouse painting, salt painting, finger painting, blow painting, clay craft, paper craft, block printing, and creative mixed-media projects. Campers can work on clay projects like clay animals, coil pots, mini clay foods, and imaginative sculptures, and they can explore landscape painting, still life painting, animal painting, and genre painting (storytelling art). The camps also include a Folk Art Workshop featuring Indian folk arts such as Madhubani, Warli Art, Kalighat painting, Mughal miniature, and Mandala art, as well as Fashion Design & Crochet Camp projects like embroideries, machine sewing, applique work, crochet, hand embroidery, quilted pieces, crochet coasters, a Boho Mesh Tote, summer tops, plushy projects, and granny square bottoms.

• Schedule: Weekly Creative Schedule running every week in June, with each Canvas Painting Workshop category taught in one full week (9 hours total) and the crochet program divided into two distinct, week-long sessions

The program includes a Fashion Design Orientation Course with fashion illustration, paper pattern making, and draping, along with visual art and painting classes and fashion and textile design classes. All materials for the sessions are provided by the studio, and a small snack is provided between sessions, with a request that children have a good meal before class. Students are asked to wear masks if they have a common cold or cough, and a hand sanitizer dispenser is available, with a suggestion that everyone sanitize their hands at the start and end of class. Payment may be made by cash, check, or online via Zelle, Venmo, or Google Pay, and fees for missed classes are not refundable, with makeup provided during regular sessions as one normal class for each day missed.
