Since 2016, it has built a give-back program that donates 20% of profits to support low-income and underprivileged youth locally and in the Cape Flats region of Cape Town, South Africa, including equipment, lessons, tee times, and field trips. For every 10 active students enrolled, the academy provides one full scholarship for a child whose family cannot afford golf, and this support is provided in partnership with Heal the Hood in Cape Flats.
Lion Golf Academy and its coaches have received multiple recognitions, including 2025 GRAA Elite Status “Top Growth of the Game Professionals in the U.S.,” GRAA “Top 100 Growth of the Game Professionals in the U.S.” in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2018, and being voted “Best Golf Instructor in Palm Desert” in 2022. A Lion Golf Academy site has been featured in a year-long GolfTIPS magazine spread on junior golf development, and Mountain Meadows Golf Course has won LA County’s best golf course multiple times over the past years.
Parent and student feedback includes comments such as, “The coaches at the academy are awesome, they make sure we all have fun and not take ourselves too seriously” (Jedrick Oracion), “It is by far the best development program for children, and I highly recommend it” (Joseph Montreal), and “Great golf programs for kids. My 8 year old daughter really enjoyed the summer camp and will be signing up for weekly lessons” (Dawn Hubbard).
