About
Sierra Nevada Journeys offers one-day field science expeditions, an Overnight Outdoor Learning program, Family STEM Nights, and camps for people with disabilities. The program also runs leadership development, group programs, and conference programs that use weekends and summers. Science instructors teach in classrooms and lead one-day field science expeditions in the Reno and Sacramento areas, and fifth and sixth-grade students and their teachers attend the Overnight Outdoor Learning outdoor school program. The organization offers a variety of STEM programs that borrow best practices from formal and informal education and trains teachers on engaging STEM lessons and outdoor learning for their classrooms, while also engaging families through Family STEM Nights.
