About
Kids Outdoor Sports Camp includes activities such as a hunter education course and test, safe marksmanship, archery skills, fishing, nature walks, wildlife observation, and group games. Campers take part in activities like 3-D archery, field navigation, range estimation, judgment-based decision-making, wildlife tracking, habitat assessment, species identification, simulated hunts, and hunt simulations. The program also includes gear care, cleaning, safety checks, equipment care, equipment cleaning, equipment repair, climbing into and out of a tree stand, and chances to spot Tule Elk.

• Schedule: Beginner Camps run from Sunday afternoon to Thursday afternoon; Advanced and Elite Camps run from Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon
• Session length: Beginner Camps are 5 days/4 nights; Advanced and Elite Camps are 6 days/5 nights
Kids Outdoor Sports Camp was founded in 1998 by Judy Oswald, who remains actively involved in the camps. The program is dedicated to building the next generation of outdoor and conservation leaders to ensure a bright future for California hunting, angling and shooting sports. Kids Outdoor Sports Camp is a registered 501(C)3 organization and partners with Wing and Barrel Ranch and Point Blue Conservation Science. Over more than 26 summers and 27 summer camps, Kids Outdoor Sports Camp has trained thousands of kids in California and now hosts over 200 campers each summer. The camps have been hosted at various locations across California for week-long overnight sessions, including Beginner, Advanced, Advanced Camp II, Elite, Elite Camp Two, and Combo Camps, with skill levels separated during rotations and shared dining and other activities. Beginner Camps include completion of the full Hunter Education course and test, Advanced Camps offer more hands-on, challenge-based outdoor experiences that adapt each year for returning campers, and Elite Camps are the highest level with selective admission, specialty tracks, conservation study through the Sportsmen’s Alliance curriculum, and mentoring of younger campers.
