Ramona MMA Center offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, No-Gi/submission grappling, boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, wrestling, and self-defense, with specific classes for kids, teens, adults, women, and adults 40 and over. The program includes Kids Jiu-Jitsu, Kids Striking, Kids Wrestling, Teens Jiu-Jitsu, Teens Striking, Teens Wrestling, Adult Gi and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, a Women’s Jiu-Jitsu program, a 40 and Up Club jiu-jitsu class, an all-levels wrestling program, a striking program with boxing and Muay Thai kickboxing, a competition team, an Adaptive & Special Needs Program, Homeschool PE, and private and small group training. Members and parents also have access to a full fitness and weight room, a heavy bag wall, open mat and specialty programs, pad and bag work, and conditioning.

Ramona MMA Center opened in October 2010 and has been family-owned and locally operated since 2010. The academy describes its mission as being built around consistency, structure, and community, with a goal of offering a positive and professional training environment for students of all ages and experience levels. The facility includes two full mat rooms, a full fitness and weight room for members and parents, locker rooms and showers, a parent lounge with TVs and full class viewing, a kids playroom, and a water station and study area.
The leadership team includes Owner and Head Professor Kevin Hosseini, Wrestling Program Director Tyler McKay, Co-Owner and Women’s Program Director Whitney Hosseini, Law Enforcement Instructor Romeo de los Reyes, 40 and Up Club Director Jeremy Stuckey, Head Muay Thai Coach Kru Doug Dickey, MMA and striking coach Jonathan Wang Kim, striking and MMA coach Manuel Medina, Lead Kids Jiu-Jitsu Instructor Cameron Stuckey, and Black Belt Instructor Alex Carrisoza. Staff credentials include multiple Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts, a 4th Degree BJJ Black Belt with multiple IBJJF titles, a high school head wrestling coach, a retired SDPD Lieutenant and former DTAC Instructor, a 6th Degree Eskrima Master, a Muay Thai coach with a 103–8 professional record, and MMA coaches with professional and amateur fight records and a kinesiology degree.
Ramona MMA Center is recognized as Ramona’s original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA academy and offers multiple disciplines under one roof through its RBJJ Team grappling program and Ramona MMA Team striking program. The academy is an Adopt A Cop BJJ affiliate gym providing fully sponsored Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training to blue belt for active-duty patrol officers and a We Defy Foundation approved affiliate school providing free Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training and scholarships for combat veterans with service-connected disabilities. It also offers an Adaptive & Special Needs Program, Homeschool PE, youth mentorship, veteran support initiatives, homeschool partnerships, and outreach through the R-Town Martial Arts Foundation, which focuses on martial arts, fitness, and community programs for local families and individuals.
The program serves families from Ramona, San Diego, Poway, Lakeside, Julian, Santa Ysabel, Borrego Springs, Wynola, Lake Henshaw, and Shelter Valley. Ramona MMA Center has been recognized by Congressman Darrell Issa for its impact on the local community.
