Ignite Dance Academy

Ignite Dance Academy offers Ballet/Pointe, Tap, Contemporary, Jazz, and Musical Theatre. Ballet/Pointe includes flexibility, muscular strength, physical endurance, and French dance terminology. Tap covers classical, jazz and rhythm tap, and clogging, with style and artistry emphasized. Contemporary focuses on choreography, emotional expression through movement, and improvisational skills. Jazz teaches jazz techniques, and Musical Theatre includes proper dance technique, Broadway styles, audience connection, and storytelling through dance and facial expressions.

Programs

• Ballet/Pointe — Acquire flexibility, muscular strength and physical endurance, as well as a working knowledge of French dance terminology.
• Tap — Explore classical, jazz and rhythm tap and clogging; refinement of style and artistry emphasized.
• Contemporary — Focus on choreography and emotional expression through movement and learn and/or improve improvisational skills.
• Teen/Adult — ages 11-adult · New dancers, ages 11-adult, will gain movement experiences and fundamental knowledge of the basics of dance.
• Jazz — Teach students jazz techniques while building flexibility, strength, endurance, discipline, and physical health.
• Musical Theatre — Teaches proper dance technique and Broadway styles, focusing on performance skills like audience connection and storytelling through dance and facial expressions.

About the provider

Ignite Dance Academy at River City Christian was born out of a desire to encourage children and adults to enjoy the art of dance and develop their gifts in this area. The program states that God created dance as a form of expression and that it is dedicated to maintaining high standards of technical performance in a wholesome environment while making classes fun.
