Cruz Language Academy offers conversational Spanish classes, a Spanish after school program, and a Spanish summer camp that includes games, songs, outdoor play, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, performances, and a daily Spanish project. The program also offers 1:1 virtual private Spanish lessons for kids and adults, as well as Spanish literature courses for adolescents and adults.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Hours of operation Monday–Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm, with private Spanish lessons available during these hours all year-round; one-on-one classes for adults meet weekly for either a 90-minute session or two one-hour lessons, and private Spanish lessons are offered in 1-hour, 90-minute, or two one-hour sessions per week with a minimum course length of one semester and ongoing, year-long classes
Since 2010, Cruz Language Academy has offered Spanish lessons for kids, adolescents, and adults using experiential methodology and a communicative approach that focuses on practicing Spanish from day one and on listening, reading-comprehension, writing, speaking, and Spanish grammar. The program offers conversational Spanish classes for kids, teens, and adults, one-on-one virtual or face-to-face Spanish sessions tailored to individual needs, a blended learning option that combines face-to-face and virtual learning, and Spanish literature courses that include works by world-class, renowned authors and Nobel Prize and Cervantes Prize laureates. Teachers are native speakers who are certified and experienced, hold master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Spanish, have teaching credentials and more than 20 years of experience, and adult 1:1 virtual private lessons are taught by a teacher with a master’s degree. Teachers provide a variety of materials free of charge per session, including textbooks, workbooks, bilingual dictionaries, and online resources, and the program’s core values follow the Cruz Language Academy acronym (CLA): Credibility, Loyalty, Achievement. Cruz Language Academy runs the Kiddos Lingua Spanish after school program for TK to 5th grade students who attend James Monroe Elementary School and is an approved vendor for charter schools including Mission Vista Academy, Pacific Coast Academy, Cabrillo Point Academy, iLEAD, Sage Oak, and others.
