Shasta Head Start Child Development, Inc. offers education, parenting support, school readiness activities, health screenings, parent engagement opportunities, nutritious meals, disabilities services, and mental health services at Shasta Head Start centers. The program includes safe, nurturing environments with responsive care and secure relationships for infants from prenatal to 18 months, enriching and engaging environments with support and guidance for toddlers 18 months to 3 years, and progressive environments with challenging activities and learning and skill development for preschoolers 3 to 5 years old. Shasta Head Start serves approximately 1,100 families each year, including children from birth to five and pregnant mothers, and provides high quality child care and social services to low income children and their families in Shasta, Siskiyou, and Trinity Counties.
