About
Play-Well TEKnologies LEGO-Inspired Engineering Programs offers project-based activities that use LEGO materials to explore engineering and architecture. Participants build projects inspired by cool machines, take part in STEM + Minecraft using LEGO materials, and venture into the world of Minecraft in a LEGO experience where they build a base, craft tools, use a Minecart to harvest raw resources, and battle to stop the Ender Dragon from ending the world. The program includes engineering and architectural projects using LEGO, with time spent inspecting, testing, modifying, and rebuilding LEGO projects while applying real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Full-day LEGO camp running August 5–9, 2024, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm
Play-Well TEKnologies provides project-based programs designed to teach principles and methods of engineering to children ages 5–14 using LEGO, with a curriculum designed by engineers. Each class utilizes over 20,000 LEGO pieces, and students have access to tens of thousands of LEGO parts to use in creating their engineering projects. The curriculum engages students in solving real-world engineering challenges, explores concepts in physics, architecture, and engineering, and introduces children to concepts and vocabulary of engineering and architecture as well as new building techniques. Students are introduced to engineering terminology that they are encouraged to use throughout the class, and instructors offer advanced challenges and modifications for any model while adjusting the curriculum to the interests and experience level of the students. The curriculums are ever evolving, with projects rotated seasonally, and Play-Well has been growing future engineers since 1997 and operates nationwide. Participants do not take any LEGO materials home, Play-Well does not sell the LEGO parts used in camps and classes, parents are encouraged to provide a peanut-free snack because Play-Well does not provide snack, and Play-Well is not responsible for any lost or broken devices. These programs are not authorized, sponsored, or endorsed by the LEGO Group.
