CTORA Academy offers acting, singing and musical theatre, including weekly rehearsals and staged productions. Participants rehearse and perform in CTORA Academy and community productions, including a full-stage musical theatre production of Trolls The Musical Jr. and an ensemble version of Titanic The Musical. The program also includes opportunities to perform in a musical theatre pit orchestra setting, live stage performances, music videos, TV series and short films, along with professional workshops offered by industry musicians.

CTORA states that its curriculum teaches musical theatre skills and is designed to foster teamwork, problem-solving abilities, self-confidence and creativity, and that each program is a platform for forging friendships and building confidence. The organization describes itself as an inclusive community that welcomes diverse voices and ideas unified through a love of performing, and it welcomes artists with a broad range of backgrounds including race, ethnicity, Indigeneity, gender, gender-identification, sexual orientation, class and physical ability. The Youth Artists Pit Orchestra is described as a selective 12-piece musical theatre orchestra training program for talented musicians ages 16–24 who are seeking professional-style training and live theatre experience. CTORA also offers an Adult Theatre Academy Workshop that is audition-based and designed for adults who love musical theatre, as well as specific workshops such as the Chicago Teen Edition Musical Theatre Academy Workshop and the Trolls Jr Musical Theatre Academy Workshop, each of which includes six public performances. The annual Canada Young Theatre Awards, associated with CTORA, are judged by local theatre professionals who evaluate applicants’ video submissions, and the awards ceremony showcases nominees, winners and guest artists.
