Richmond Police Activities League Youth Programs offers a variety of structured educational and recreational programs and activities that are described as challenging yet enjoyable. The program meets young people “where they are” and includes services and resources that are described as essential to many young people who frequent its one-stop youth center. Participants have access to meals, homework assistance, a safe place to go after school, and caring adults to talk to.
The Richmond Police Activities League was founded in 1982 and is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Its mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young people through recreational, educational, cultural, and social programs while building positive relations between police officers and the community. The organization is dedicated to supporting young people holistically and is described as passionate about having a positive impact on young people toward helping them recognize their greatest potential and achieve their long-term success.
