About
The Little Gym Dance Program includes activities such as gymnastics, tumbling, balancing, and climbing. The program uses movement-based learning and imaginative play in a positive, non-competitive spirit. It is part of a global community of families, instructors, and local business owners, and also offers birthday parties, camps, and Parent Survival Night options.
• Ages: 4 months–12 years old
The Little Gym Dance Program follows The Little Gym’s Three-Dimensional Learning philosophy, which includes Get Moving, Citizen Kid, and Brain Boost. Get Moving focuses on developing motor skills, strength, balance, flexibility, agility, and coordination through gymnastics. Citizen Kid focuses on sharing, teamwork, cooperation, and leadership. Brain Boost focuses on creativity, imagination, concentration, and decision-making. The Little Gym is described in its mission statement as a place where children ages 4 months to 12 years learn and grow through movement-based learning and imaginative play.
The Little Gym was founded by Robin Wes, who opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington. Parent feedback about the program includes comments such as “A great well paced program” from S J Peretz and “We have a blast! My child is full of energy and they are patient with her, teaching her skills that help support her independence” from Treneice Reese.
