Sports Buddies is a program for youth ages 11 to 14. It connects mentors and youth through facilitated sessions that include sports and other group activities.

About the provider
Sports Buddies formally launched in Orange County on September 30, 2024, after a pilot phase that began in fall 2023. One or two events are held each month, and each event is planned, supervised, and facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters with a staff member in attendance. A partnership with the NFL Alumni Association’s Southern California chapter is included through Watch Party mixers at area venues.
There are currently 14 matches in the program, with a goal to reach 50 matches by spring of 2025. There is currently a waiting list of BBBS OC & IE Littles to be matched with a Big for mentoring.
