About
STEAM Camp is an immersive two-week STEAM experience that runs as La Sierra’s 9-day STEAM Camp in June 2025. The camp offers college credit as part of its program structure. Each day includes a morning class, a lunch break, and an afternoon class.
• Ages: 14–18 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, June 16–27, 2025 (off on June 19), with morning and afternoon classes over a two-week session
• Price: La Sierra’s 9-day STEAM Camp offers college credit, lunch, and snacks for $450.
STEAM Camp is designed for high school students, with preference given to rising juniors or seniors. La Sierra’s camp extends to older teens, in contrast to many local camps that focus on 13–14-year-olds. The camp’s cost is described as a high-value option compared to local camps that average $650 for five days and often charge extra for meals, and it gives students college credit and hands-on experience for a fraction of the average cost of a single college unit in California at public and private institutions.
La Sierra University states its mission as “Where academic investigation, Christian faith, and service to others unite.” The university highlights community involvement through mission trips to Holbrook Indian School in Arizona and to cities in Guatemala, where 28 La Sierra University students spent their Christmas break focusing on the wellbeing of others. La Sierra also notes credentials and awards that include Zapara School dean John Thomas being honored with the Weniger medallion and a La Sierra graduate assistant basketball coach receiving a Weniger student scholarship.
