Spreckels Theatre Education Program (STEP) offers youth camps and youth classes that include theatre activities such as junior shows. STEP produces 2–3 junior shows each year, including a winter/spring production in the Condiotti studio space and a summer camp production on the Codding stage. The program also includes a summer camp production on the Codding stage as part of its youth camp offerings.
Spreckels Theatre Education Program (STEP) strives to provide a professional educational experience for the young talent of Sonoma County. STEP is part of the Dorothy Rohnert Spreckels Performing Arts Center, which was completed in 1990 as a $10 million model Performing Arts Center and is a city-owned and operated facility. Spreckels has been the most-awarded theatre company in the North Bay for more than a decade and is described as a leading performing arts organization in the heart of Sonoma County, California. The Spreckels Performing Arts Center also serves as a rental venue welcoming local professional and educational dance companies, concert performances, and touring productions throughout the year, and provides performing arts programming for residents of Rohnert Park, Sonoma County, and surrounding regions while making its facilities available for presentations by local arts and civic organizations.
