Sonoma State University's Super Kids Camp was founded in 1992 and runs annually, hosting over a hundred campers per day during its eight-week program. Campers are grouped into littles (ages 5–6), middles (ages 7–8), and bigs (ages 9–11) so they participate with peers in their age range. The program maintains an eight-to-one camper to counselor ratio and offers unique, fun and educational activities daily. Counselors are Sonoma State University students who are described as positive role models for campers and are committed to campers’ education. The camp states that it understands that children often forget much of what they have learned during the school year and therefore emphasizes learning at Super Kids Camp. The program notes that a safe environment is offered for all campers and that children can expand on their sports, drama, science, and art knowledge and improve their social interaction skills.
