The Shaolin Temple Martial Arts Academy is described as a House of Discipline where they develop children's focus, concentration, respect, self-confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills. Classes are limited to a maximum of 15 students per class, are separated by age group and ability, and are offered as group classes as well as private training sessions. The family martial arts program allows children, parents, and grandparents to attend classes and progress at their own pace, with children practicing with other children and adults practicing with other adults. The Shaolin Temple Martial Arts Academy was established by Shaolin Temple 34th Generation Warrior Disciple Shi Yan Hui. In June 2005 he established the United States Shaolin Martial Arts Academy in Los Angeles, California. In November 2008 the California Shaolin Temple was formed and served as the parent organization of the United States Shaolin Martial Arts Academy and United States Shaolin Martial Arts Performing Group. In August 2013 Master Bruce Wen launched the California Shaolin Temple Martial Arts Academy and the Shaolin Entertainment Group.

Master Shi Yan Hui (also known as Bruce Wen, secular name Wen Xiao Long, birth name Wen Yu Bao) is a 34th Generation Shaolin Warrior Master. He was put under the guidance of warrior monk masters Shi Su Gang, Shi Heng Jun, Shi Xing Du, Shi De Cheng, Shi De Yang, Shi Yong Qian, and many more, and he spent decades training and refining his martial arts in the Shaolin Temple in China. He was granted permission from his master of the Shaolin Temple to teach and promote Shaolin Martial Arts overseas, was further granted Shaolin Master title status, and took on Shi Yan Hui as his warrior name. He is described as a world re-known Chinese action film star, movie producer, director, action director, educator, and philosopher, and he has been cast in action films such as “Forgotten Jewel,” “Organized Chaos,” “Kung Fu Comedy,” “Young Hero,” and “The Dream of the Red Chamber.” He has been featured in many worldwide Shaolin Kung Fu performances, newspapers, magazines, televisions, and movies. Sifu Master Bruce Wen instructs all classes and oversees and operates the Shaolin Temple Martial Arts Academy.
