About

Youth Studio Classes and Family Programs are listed among the programs offered as part of the Crocker Art Museum’s diverse spectrum of exhibitions, events, and programs. These programs are included in a calendar that features family-friendly programs, talks and conversations, concerts, films, and other art-related events.

The Crocker Art Museum states that its mission is to promote an awareness of and enthusiasm for human experience through art, and to enrich the intellectual and cultural life of the communities it serves. The museum is described as the primary resource for the study and appreciation of fine art in the Sacramento region and holds more than 25,000 works of art in a 151,000-square-foot museum space. Its collections include California art from the Gold Rush to the present, Master Drawings and European paintings, one of the largest international ceramics collections in the United States, and collections of Asian, African, and Oceanic art. The museum holds 350 public programs each year and offers family-friendly programs within this schedule. The Crocker Art Museum is the only museum in the Sacramento region accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, a recognition given to fewer than 1,100 of the nation’s 33,000 museums. The museum acknowledges that it is on the traditional land of the Nisenan people and that the current state of California is the homeland of many tribes.
