READ Learning Center

READ Learning Center offers specialized tutoring in reading, writing, and math using structured literacy and math methods. It also offers dyslexia assessment, with evaluation for dysgraphia and dyscalculia upon request. The summer program includes reading, writing, math, and daily activities, with small group instruction based on placement assessment.

Programs

• Specialized Tutoring — Kindergarten through 12th grade and adulthood · 1:1 after-school sessions; sessions are 50 minutes, twice per week minimum on M/W or T/Th at 3, 4, 5, or 6 PM · Evidence-based instruction in reading, writing, and math using structured literacy and math methods.
• Dyslexia Assessment — Comprehensive evaluation for dyslexia; can also assess dysgraphia and dyscalculia upon request.
• Summer Program / Summer Camp — Students entering 1st through 12th grade · Mon-Thu, 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM; July 6 - July 30, 2026; extended care before 8:30 AM and until 4:00 PM · $2,000 · 4-week summer intensive with reading, writing, math, and daily activities; small group instruction based on placement assessment.
• Full-Time Private Program (READ Academy) — 2nd through 12th grade · Mon-Thu · WASC-accredited sister program for students who need full-time specialized instruction.

About the provider

The founder and program director is Dr. Leah Skinner, ED.D. She is a Certified Dyslexia Therapist and a Certified Special Education Advocate, and she holds a Doctor of Education in Reading, Literacy, and Assessment and a Master of Education in Dyslexia Specialization. READ Learning Center has over 20 years of experience in structured literacy and dyslexia intervention, and READ Academy is WASC-accredited.

Families can contact by call, email, or form. The summer program includes a non-refundable $250 deposit and tuition is non-refundable after the program commences. Tuition can be prorated for up to 3 weeks. The parent questionnaire must be completed prior to the dyslexia assessment appointment.
