READ Learning Center Tutoring is part of READ Academy, which offers a full-time private school, a summer program, and specialized tutoring services for students with dyslexia and learning differences. The program is connected with a 4-week intensive summer program every July through READ Learning Center that uses Orton-Gillingham curriculum alongside engaging activities for 1st through 12th graders. READ Academy and READ Learning Center provide one-on-one and small group intervention and a comprehensive dyslexia assessment.
READ Academy’s mission states that it supports students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and executive function difficulties by providing instruction developed for them and suited to their unique learning style. READ Academy is a WASC accredited private school designed for students who were failing to thrive with reading, writing and math in a public school setting. The leadership is headed by Dr. Leah Skinner, ED.D., Founder and Administrator, whose credentials include a Doctor of Education in Reading, Literacy, and Assessment; a Master of Education as a Dyslexia Specialist; Certified Dyslexia Therapist; and Certified Special Education Advocate.
