The program’s stated philosophy highlights discipline, confidence, respect, self-control, self-esteem, self-development, and self-defense, and it states that martial arts is viewed as a way of life. It states that students are taught traditional martial arts in a fun and safe environment where everyone helps each other succeed, with no competition so everyone learns at their own pace. The program states that anyone can participate in martial arts, that the skills developed become muscle memory that will last for a lifetime, and that Mr. Sells trains all his students to be champions in life, not just in sports. Curtis Sells Martial Arts was featured as a business in the Salinas Californian on January 8, 2022.
