Legends Camps offers baseball and softball camps and clinics that include skill building drills and games, as well as SpeedBall games. Campers take part in exclusive skill games and challenges, and families can join a pre-camp virtual orientation and pre-camp challenges. The program was founded in 2008 by David Klein, an Experience Designer and Holistic Coach, who also created a detailed life lesson curriculum and is a 2018 Positive Coaching Alliance National Double Goal Coach Award Winner. Legends Camps has been featured by the Positive Coaching Alliance, Thrive Global, and the San Jose Mercury News, and has served thousands of children in California through “fun first” baseball experiences, with over 50 players moving on to professional baseball.
The program’s flagship camps use Legends-themed weeks called POWER Week, GUTS Week, FOCUS Week, and HUSTLE Week, with POWER Week inspired by Babe Ruth, GUTS Week by Jackie Robinson, FOCUS Week by Shohei Ohtani, and HUSTLE Week by Willie Mays. Each camp week emphasizes different life lessons and core values through a detailed curriculum, and the coaching approach is described as positive and growth mindset-oriented with a focus on effort over outcome.
