About
Maaquatics Swimming offers seasonal swim programs, summer camps, and swim lessons that include the Spring Pups Program and the Fall Swim program. The Spring Pups Program focuses on freestyle with side breathing and backstroke for children who may want to join a swim team in the future. Winter swim options are also available.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: The Spring Pups Program runs April through the end of June, and the Fall Swim program runs September through October.
Maaquatics, Inc. is run by Mark and Julie Anderson, and Mark Anderson coaches the Fall Swim program. Mark is entering his 32th year of coaching swimming in Marin and is in his 28th year of coaching the Sleepy Hollow Sealions. Mark and Julie Anderson have been running the Sleepy Hollow Summer Swim Lesson Program for the past 20 years. Julie is an All-American high school and college swimmer who swam at the University of California at Berkeley on a swimming scholarship and has been involved in coaching and teaching swim lessons her entire life. All instructors have either swum or been coached by Mark and Julie, are familiar with their style and technique, and complete a training period to teach the drills and techniques Mark and Julie have used for years. Their stated goal is to instill good swimming technique by keeping drills simple and fun so kids build confidence and do not over-think, and they state that they understand and identify kids’ individual learning styles and adapt their techniques for each child’s success.
