Marin Community Music School

Marin Community Music School offers chances to study, play, and perform music in a wide range of styles. The program includes music instruction, coaching, ensemble playing, and performance opportunities, with options for both singing and playing instruments. Community members of all ages take part in these music activities.

Opened in 2009, Marin Community Music School has been sharing music for over 15 years. Its mission is to provide music instruction, coaching, ensemble, and performance opportunities for community members of all ages and musical interests on a first-come, first-served basis, without regard to means, income, or any otherwise limiting factor. The school has welcomed 1,153 students from 870 households, with students ranging in age from 7 to 85, and has provided more than 22,235 hours of instruction and coaching. As a non-profit charitable resource, it relies on supporters in Marin and beyond for the continued development of its programs and to assist students in need, and supporters have provided $300,539 to date. The school admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, and does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, or national origin in educational, admission, and financial aid policies or programs. It also offers a free consultation to find out if Marin Community Music School is right for a student by meeting with one of its teachers.
