The Image Flow Photography Workshops offers in-person sessions such as Beyond the Basics, Personal Project Workshop, Camera Basics, Cyanotype Workshop, Portrait Photography, and an Encaustics Workshop. The program also offers online options including One-on-One Online sessions by appointment and the Language of Light Online, which provides 5 hours of private instruction live via Zoom. The Image Flow was founded in 2008 by Stuart Schwartz. The mission of The Image Flow is to celebrate photography in all its forms and to provide a platform for photographers of all levels to create work, exchange ideas, and innovate the medium of photography. The Image Flow offers photography classes and workshops for adults and kids in Marin County and the San Francisco Bay Area, along with public exhibitions and free lectures that feature work from domestic and international artists.
The leadership and staff include Stuart Schwartz (Founder & Educator), Nathan Lomas (Educator, Gallery & Production Manager), Dean Lipoff (Production & Imaging Associate), Page Sullivan (Front Desk & Digital Media Manager), and Jarod Denmark (Graphic Designer, Client Services). Stuart Schwartz graduated from the Art Center in 1979 and spent 35 years as an advertising photographer in the U.S. and Europe. Nathan Lomas has a BFA from the College of Creative Studies in Detroit and an MFA in Imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York, and is an adjunct professor at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Dean Lipoff is a Brooks Institute graduate and has been photographing and retouching images for over 30 years. Page Sonnet Sullivan holds a BFA in Photography and a Concentration in Literary Arts and Studies from Rhode Island School of Design. Jarod Denmark earned his BFA in Art Studio and Art History from San Francisco State University.
The Image Flow provides exhibition-quality custom photo printing with a wide selection of archival professional papers, and technicians work closely with clients to enhance images before printing. The program also digitizes family photos for long-term archiving. The Image Flow shares information about new classes, community events, and speaker series through a newsletter, and states that information will never be shared or sold to a third party.
