Coastal Kiddos states that its mission is to connect kids in San Diego to the natural world around them and to create a connection with nature at a young age to help create life-long outdoorsman and women. The mission also states that this relationship with nature is important for human health and the health of the planet, and that the program aims to pass a love and appreciation of the outdoors on to the next generation.

Coastal Kiddos is a partner with 1% for the Planet and pledges 1% of its annual sales to environmental and social causes. For the past five years, Coastal Kiddos has supported Foster the Earth, Farm Link Project, and WILDCOAST. A parent testimonial from Joanna F describes the outdoor adventure camps as including educational instruction, arts and crafts, and exploration and play time, and notes that the group’s smiling faces summed up a successful day.
