Culture Shock San Diego was founded in 1993 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Hip Hop dance organization dedicated to innovative performance, entertainment, artist development, education, and community outreach. The organization is the originator of the world-wide network of Culture Shock International. The studio features inspirational graffiti art on the walls created by internationally renowned graffiti artists. Dance troupes in this program include Culture Shock San Diego, Future Shock San Diego, Mighty Shock San Diego, and Mini Shock San Diego, and the troupe program is for youth and adult dancers seeking more intensive training and performance opportunities. Culture Shock states that its dance training provides dancers of all ages physical strength, mental stability, self-confidence, and a network of lifetime supporters.
