About
Jax Gymnastics offers gymnastics along with pre-k hang outs, afterschool programs, open gyms, date nights, parties, clinics, Jax Pods, and an On-the-Go program. In the On-the-Go program, children do a running warmup in the grass as part of their activities.
• Ages: 2–12 years old
Jax Pods are private weekly lessons for a group of students with a limit of eight students, and the host family books the weekly Jax Pod timeslot and gathers friends. Jax never invites somebody to join a private group lesson without the group. Weekly Lessons tuition is calculated by the actual number of classes offered that month, and registration is prorated based on when a family joins. All participating children need a waiver signed before they participate, and cancellation of Weekly Lessons requires emailing prior to the 15th of the month to avoid billing for the next period. Parents are allowed to watch and may be required to witness on skill growth days.
For the On-the-Go program, children do an active running warmup in grass and should wear appropriate shoes, then take shoes off during stations. Stretchy and comfortable, but not overly loose clothing is recommended, a special leotard is not needed, pants with zippers or buttons should be avoided, and sunscreen is recommended.
Jax Gymnastics states that JAX VALUES include Excellence, Emotional Well Being, Commitment to Teaching Principles, Family, and Community Partnership. Its mantra is “Learning is fun. I have courage. My body is strong.” and its tagline is “CARTWHEELS & CONFIDENCE”. The program’s philosophy is that every child is unique, every family is part of their family, and every teacher is a mentor. The mission statement says that Jax is about teaching kids the fundamentals of movement and motivating them to take risks, learning life lessons from falling and getting back up, being kind and giving back, treating others with respect, and celebrating differences.
The vision and reality of Jax Gymnastics came true in 2020. Jax partners with daycare centers, pre-schools, home-school families and businesses.
Jackie is the founder of Jax Gymnastics and is a former competitive gymnast and coach. Jackie was a competitive USAG Level 9 gymnast, a Jr. Olympic All American, a collegiate track and field athlete, and has managed multiple gymnastics locations and coached collegiate athletes at schools such as Clemson and Harvard University.
One parent, Claire, says, “Jackie can teach any child to love gymnastics. She is patient, loving and kind. She can be silly and get any kid out of their shell and most importantly she is safe and completely trustworthy.”
