About
Jax Gymnastics offers gymnastics classes that include a running warmup in the grass and gymnastics-related activity stations. The program also offers Jax Pods, which are private weekly lessons for a group of students, and an On-the-Go program. Coaches provide activity modifications so everyone can participate in the stations, and Jax welcomes children with special needs.
• Schedule: Weekly lessons tuition is prorated based on when a student joins, and weekly lessons can be canceled by emailing prior to the 15th of the month to avoid billing for the next period.
• Price: Weekly Lessons tuition is prorated based on when a student joins.
Jax Pods are private weekly lessons for a group of students with a limit of eight students, and Jax never invites someone to join a private group lesson without the group’s consent. Parents are allowed to watch and may be required to witness on skill growth days, and for Studio Jax, the number of families in the facility is limited. If Jax cancels a class because of weather, they work with families to make the class up either online or during a make up day. For the On-the-Go program, children do an active running warmup in grass and should wear appropriate shoes, then take shoes off during stations; stretchy, comfortable clothing without zippers or buttons is recommended, and sunscreen is recommended.
The founder of Jax Gymnastics, Jackie, was a competitive USAG Level 9 gymnast, a Jr. Olympic All American, and a collegiate track and field athlete, and she has managed multiple gymnastics locations and coached collegiate athletes at schools such as Clemson and Harvard University. Jackie founded Jax Gymnastics, and teaching runs in her family, as both of her parents are professors. The vision and reality of Jax Gymnastics came true in 2020.
Jax states that its values include Excellence, Emotional Well Being, Commitment to Teaching Principles, Family, and Community Partnership. Its mission statement says Jax is about teaching kids the fundamentals of movement and motivating them to take risks, learning life lessons from falling and getting back up, being kind and giving back, treating others with respect, and celebrating differences. Jax uses the mantra, “Learning is fun. I have courage. My body is strong.” and the taglines “CARTWHEELS & CONFIDENCE” and “At Jax, we put fun in the fundamentals.” Jax partners with daycare centers, pre-schools, home-school families, and businesses. One parent, Claire, says, “Jackie can teach any child to love gymnastics. She is patient, loving and kind. She can be silly and get any kid out of their shell and most importantly she is safe and completely trustworthy.”
