San Diego Surf Soccer Club offers soccer training and competitive youth soccer, including ECNL competitive soccer and tryouts. The program fields teams that compete at the highest levels locally, regionally, and nationally in youth soccer.

San Diego Surf Soccer Club was established in 1977, and 45+ years later the club continues to field teams that compete at the highest levels locally, regionally, and nationally. The club states that it focuses at every level on the development of a child’s physical skills, emotional maturity, and sportsmanship, and that it believes participation in soccer can play an important role in the development of a child into a confident and respectful young man or young woman. The club is described as San Diego’s premier ECNL competitive soccer team for boys and girls and as the best elite competitive youth soccer club in San Diego, with 21 National Championships and consistent rankings among the top clubs in the nation in terms of the performance of its top teams.

The leadership team includes Eddie Fonbon (Head Coach, Regional Director, San Diego Surf South), Lorenzo Vazquez (Head Coach, Boys), Fernando Ferreyra (Head Coach), Anthony Hernandez (Head Coach), Shawn Ochoa (Head Coach, Girls), Cacey Villa (Head Coach, Girls), Dominico Silva (Head Coach, Girls), Enrique Aguilar (Head Coach), Brett Evans (Head Coach, Girls), David Lopez (Head Coach), Seth Dameron (Head Coach, Boys), and Michael Gudiel (Assistant Coach, Girls). Staff coaching credentials include licenses such as U.S. National D License, ICAFUT MX License, U.S. Soccer Federation National C and D Licenses, U.S. Soccer Grassroots License, U.S. Soccer B License, and U.S. Soccer National Grassroots, along with specific 11v11 and 9v9 courses hosted by SOCAL and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from SDSU.
