Sports4Kids involves kids in collecting sports equipment and distributing it to people in need. The program includes games and sports that promote teamwork and play for every kid, along with sports programs in schools that have a high homeless student population. Participants also take part in activities such as feeding the homeless, supplying back-to-school backpacks to financially needy families, and offering support through care packages for individuals without homes.

• Price: $25 Donation provides granola bars, peanut butter, and whole grain crackers; $50 Donation supplies dried fruits, tuna, and mixed nuts; $100 Donation delivers macaroni & cheese, beans, and instant oatmeal; $250 Donation offers an abundance of granola bars, peanut butter, rice or quinoa, and canned fruit
Sports4Kids has a mission to create a brighter future for the young individuals in the community who are facing homelessness. Through volunteer opportunities tailored for children of all ages, the program engages families in community events that support the homeless youth community. Sports4Kids is a 501C3 nonprofit and is a fiscally sponsored project of Mission Edge San Diego. The organization is 100 percent volunteer-run, and its primary focus is to provide opportunities for all low-income youth to play sports while building physical and social skills. Arden Pala is the Founder and CEO of Sports4Kids and has been honored with the President’s Lifetime Volunteer Service Award for his service in the community.
