The Salvation Army Youth Summer Camp is one of the ways The Salvation Army helps in the community. The program is part of a broader set of programs that combat homelessness and hunger, provide safe spaces for kids, help adults achieve and maintain sobriety, and give hope to vulnerable neighbors.

The Salvation Army Youth Summer Camp is connected to The Salvation Army’s mission as an international movement and evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible, its ministry is motivated by the love of God, and its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in Jesus’ name without discrimination. The camp is part of The Salvation Army’s work serving neighbors in San Diego County. Leadership connected to this work includes Jake Minger (Communications Manager), multiple Corps Officers from local Corps Community Centers and the San Diego Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center, as well as leaders from the Door of Hope and the San Diego Adult Rehabilitation Center. One supporter, Ernest Rady, states, “We have great confidence in this organization, so we are happy to put our resources in their hands and we look forward to a successful conclusion. I’m really proud of what we’re doing.”
