Karyn Overstreet is described as a Broadway Experienced Master Vocal Coach, a master singing teacher and vocal coach, and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Her performance credits include Broadway, Broadway National Tours, Off-Broadway, regional theatre, TV hosting, and film. She has been behind the table at Unifieds and at live auditions for university musical theatre programs in New York and Los Angeles. Sydney Forest Taylor serves as Artist Development Coach and Los Angeles Representative, has a degree in musical theater from Cal State Fullerton, became an A&R executive for a Los Angeles–based boutique music publisher representing catalogs such as Jimi Hendrix, Chicago, and Professor Longhair, and has signed, developed, and worked with new and up-and-coming artists. Sydney was signed to Disney Music Publishing as an artist and songwriter, is very familiar with the ABRSM program of testing and performance grades, and founded “Monday Night Music Club,” a monthly showcase for new talent hosted at Genghis Cohen in Hollywood. Sydney’s mother, Gayla Peevey, sang the original version of “I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas” as a 10-year-old in 1953 and debuted it on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Karyn Overstreet Vocal Studio has been recognized nationally with winners in the YoungArts National Competition for Voice: Singer/Songwriter for 2020 and 2021. Clients of the studio have won a total of 18 National Youth Awards in San Diego and San Diego North County for 2021. The studio notes that clients have appeared on American Idol and The Voice in the referenced season, and that clients have Broadway national tours, major motion pictures, television, commercials, voice-overs, and major record deals. The studio states that Karyn works with all levels of talent and ages and that there is a 24 hour cancellation policy requiring 24 hour notice if a lesson needs to be canceled for any reason; otherwise, the student is responsible for paying for the lesson in full.

One testimonial from singer Jesse Anton Gawlik states that working with Karyn was one of the best decisions he ever made, that her sessions are fun and efficient, that within one rehearsal she identified the breath work and techniques he needed to work on to find his purest sound, and that within a month he discovered a new range of opportunity with his voice and no longer felt like he was straining to reach notes. Another testimonial from singer Bryn Frazee of New York University states that choosing Karyn Overstreet as a vocal coach was one of the best decisions in Bryn’s performing career, that Karyn transformed Bryn’s voice by making it stronger, and that Bryn continues to learn from every lesson.
