The Doc-Fai Wong Martial Arts Center has provided San Francisco with professional and quality instruction in Choy Li Fut Kung Fu, Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan, and Traditional Chinese Lion Dancing since 1968. World renown Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong and his son Sifu Jason J. Wong have striven to teach traditional martial arts as pure as the first masters and yet with breakthrough and modern methods of teaching. The center holds classes for children, teens, and adults, and there is no course schedule, so the program states that the best time to start is now. Each class is taught by one of the center’s professional and certified instructors, and classes are designed for students' personal needs and progression.

The Doc-Fai Wong Martial Arts Center is the flagship school for over 200 schools in over 33 countries worldwide, all part of the Plum Blossom International Federation, and students automatically become members of this federation. The Plum Blossom International Federation was founded in 1986. Students from the center are in attendance at many community activities, public demonstrations, parades, and other events promoting traditional martial arts and Chinese culture. Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong raised all the funds for renovating the original residence of Chan Heung, founder of Choy Li Fut Kung Fu in the King Mui Village of China, for the Chan family to set up the house as a museum.

Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong is the founder of the Doc-Fai Wong Martial Arts Center and president of the worldwide Plum Blossom International Federation. He is a 5th generation master of Yang Style Tai Chi and a high level Chi Kung practitioner. He was the Tai Chi Chuan instructor at San Francisco City College from 1974 to 2003, became a California state certified acupuncturist in 1977, and holds a doctorate degree in Allied Health Sciences. He is a longtime disciple and adopted son of Professor Peng-Si Yu and Min Ou-Yang, two of China's greatest Chi Kung and Yi Quan teachers, and he is the voluntary Head Instructor of the Tai Chi Club of the Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center in San Francisco. Sifu Jason J. Wong, son of Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong, is also part of the leadership team.

Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong was promoted to grandmaster status by Great-Grandmaster Wong Gong in 1987, and Hu Yuen-Chou promoted him to the rank of Grandmaster of his federation for both Choy Li Fut and Tai Chi before his retirement in 1987. In 1991 he was featured in Who's Who in California and was awarded the Kung Fu Artist of the Year by Black Belt magazine. He has been featured on the covers of martial arts magazines more than 20 times, has written over 200 articles, produced several books and over 40 instructional videos, and has been a contributing editor of Inside Kung Fu Magazine since 1986.
