Nemo Swim School

Nemo Swim School offers swimming lessons that include private swim lessons, at home swim lessons, ISR survival training, stroke technique development, endurance and strength focus, competitive stroke refinement, fitness and rehabilitation, and lifeguard prep. The program provides 1-on-1 at home swim lessons, indoor and outdoor swim lessons, and mobile swim instruction bringing lessons directly to a swimmer’s own pool, with local certified swim instructors coming to a local pool or home. Nemo Swim School uses the Nemo Safety Method™ with a 1-on-1 approach tailored to swimmers of all ages and skill levels, and offers Safe & Strong Beginners™, Nemo Splash Starters™, and Swim Skill Builders™ programs, along with age-specific water safety and skill development, gentle acclimation programs for 6–18 months, parent-child bonding in water, play-based skill foundations, advanced safety scenarios for ages 5–12 years, lifeguard prep for teens and adults, small class sizes, and parent participation encouraged.

Nemo Swim School offers classes for kids from 8:30am–12:00pm, classes for beginners from 8:30am–3:30pm, and private and semi-private lessons near San Francisco from 8:30am–5:30pm. Teachers conveniently come to families so adults can stay at home or watch, and spectators can watch swimming lessons from a designated viewing area rather than poolside, with reminders to shower before and after lessons and use toilet facilities before getting in the pool.

Nemo Swim School was founded in 2020, and since 2009 its stated mission has been to provide quality swim education in a friendly and accessible environment. The leadership team includes Yolanda Jenkins, Founder of Nemo Swim School and Head of School; Andy Holman, a preferred swim teacher for kids under 8 years old; Harriet Bailey, a top-rated swim coach for kids 7–12; and Melinda Schiller, an ISA-certified swim coach who can provide family swim lessons. All swimming coaches are certified with a “Swimming safety” program, hold local CPR certification, and are trained in first aid and water safety. Melinda Schiller is specifically noted as an ISA-certified swim coach.
