About

San Francisco Center for the Book Workshops offers letterpress workshops, bookbinding workshops, arts workshops, and risograph workshops. It also offers Core Certificate Programs, including the Bookbinding Core Certificate Program and the Cylinder Core Certificate Program, for adult students of all skill levels. Workshops are offered in-person and online, and individual sessions are held on weekends throughout the term.

  • Bookbinding Core Certificate Program — adult students of all skill levels · Fall 2026 sessions on September 5, 12, 20; September 26 and October 3; October 10; October 24 and 25; November 7; November 15; December 5; December 12 and 13; weeklong intensive October 4-9 and November 16-20 · A comprehensive foundation in bookbinding with four classes over five days; classes must be taken in sequence.
  • Cylinder Core Certificate Program — adult students of all skill levels · Fall 2026 sessions on October 3, 10, 17, 24; 4-day intensive November 9-12 · A comprehensive foundation in letterpress printing with four daylong workshops.

About the provider

The program’s mission statement is "Dedicated to the art of the book." Field trips, tours, and team builders are available for adults and kids.
