San Francisco Police Activities League (SFPAL) Youth Programs offers SFPAL 49ers Football, SFPAL 49ers Cheerleading, Law Enforcement Cadets, Jiu jitsu, Fishing, Chess, Art, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, and 49ers PREP flag football. Art is listed for ages 8-12, and SFPAL 49ers Football is listed for ages 7-13 with practice on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00PM-7:00PM, then on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 5:00PM-7:00PM after Labor Day.

About the provider

Since 1959, thousands of San Francisco youth have participated in PAL activities, and almost 1,200 kids participate in PAL healthy activities every year. SFPAL serves almost 1,200 youth annually with the help of over 100 civilian and police volunteer coaches and mentors. The mission of SFPAL is to build community by organizing youth sports and healthy activities, and to develop personal character and foster positive relationships among police officers, youth, and dedicated volunteers.

Football registration begins in February; the season does not officially start until August 1st in the Western Addition. Football 2026 practice starts Monday, July 27, 2026. Art registration is open for the fall session. Law Enforcement Cadets is a collaborative effort of SFPAL and the San Francisco Police Department.
