About

The Shinzen Nikkei Youth Goodwill Program includes a variety of activities such as goodwill basketball games, intercultural activities, and homestays. Participants also visit an orphanage, tour the Peace Memorial Museum and Peace Park, and experience a wheelchair basketball session. Additional activities include tours of Kyoto and Miyajima and a traditional tea ceremony.

In 1997, the JCCCNC and the office of the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco established the Shinzen Nikkei Youth Goodwill Basketball Program. The program's mission is to promote international goodwill and exchange between the youth of Japan and the Japanese American community. It is supported by The Henri and Tomoye Takahashi Charitable Foundation, Japan Airlines, and Shinzen families. The leadership team includes Coach Cori Nishimoto, Coach Jason Loy, and Coaches Travis Hom and Chrissie Hosoda.
