The Art of CodeFu teaches the fundamentals of coding while focusing on kindness, empathy, and social and emotional skills crucial for healthy child and adolescent development. The program describes “The Art of CodeFu” as a martial art-like level of skill and mastery in tech, coding, and kindness. Lessons integrate coding into subjects ranging from physical education to science and incorporate themes from kids’ lives, including bullying and self-esteem. The program also includes teaching about the “Yin & Yang of Technology & Nature,” addressing the importance of technology and its role in balance with being active and in tune with one another and the outside world.
The Art of CodeFu was created by teachers with decades of classroom experience together with top programmers in Silicon Valley. The program states “Teachers first. CodeFu Masters, second.” CodeFu has been in operation at least from 2015 to 2026, as indicated by “Privacy © 2015 - 2026 Codefu, LLC.” The program has been featured on ABC7 Bay Area.
