The Art of CodeFu teaches the fundamentals of coding while focusing on kindness, empathy, and social/emotional skills crucial for healthy child and adolescent development. The program presents The Art of CodeFu (/cōdfù/) as a martial art-like level of skill and mastery in tech, coding, and kindness, and incorporates important themes relevant to kids’ lives that range from bullying to self-esteem. CodeFu integrates coding into subjects from PE to science in all of its lessons and teaches students about the “Yin & Yang of Technology & Nature,” including the importance of technology and its role in balance with being active and in tune with one another and the outside world.
The Art of CodeFu was created with a unique combination of teachers with decades of experience in the classroom and top programmers in Silicon Valley. The program states “Teachers first. CodeFu Masters, second.” CodeFu, LLC lists a history timeframe of 2015–2026. The program reports having served 200+ schools and taught 10,000+ students. The Art of CodeFu has been featured on ABC7 Bay Area.
