Alum Rock Futbol Club’s mission is to promote healthy lifestyles in the underserved community of Alum Rock in San Jose, California. The soccer program aims to maximize physical activity among participants each season and is designed for kids 4–19 years of age. The club aims to improve the life of at-risk youth through the sport of soccer with its youth development program. Besides soccer instruction, the program also includes motivation, inspiration, and building self-esteem, as well as promoting group participation as a foundation for participants’ future lives. The organization measures its success in part by strong and lasting relationships during a critical point in participants’ development and by making a difference for their social and academic futures. Alum Rock Futbol Club seeks to be recognized in its community as an organization that develops and retains its players through quality soccer programs, qualified and licensed coaches, and outstanding referees.
