About

Central Valley San Jose Soccer Club offers youth soccer through both recreational soccer and competitive soccer. Players take part in soccer practices, soccer games, and tournaments as part of the program.

• Ages: 4–18 years old

Since 1983, Central Valley San Jose Soccer Club has offered youth soccer in the Cambrian and Willow Glen communities and focuses on recreational soccer for every age and skill level. Competitive teams are led by U.S. Soccer licensed coaches with extensive experience and participate in the NorCal Premier and CalNorth leagues, as well as various tournaments year-round. The club uses a unique approach to player recruitment for competitive teams by inviting players to attend regular practices instead of one-time tryouts. Its stated mission is to make soccer accessible to everyone, regardless of age, playing ability, or background, and to share the physical, mental, and social rewards of the game. The club describes itself as more than just a collection of teams and notes a philosophy that focuses on empowering youth soccer with a focus on player development in a supportive environment aimed at helping athletes reach their full potential through resilience and determination, with 40 years and counting of history. The leadership team includes Patrick Schulkers (President, Strategic Steward & Governance Lead), Fikret Jazvin (Vice President, Operations, Club Infrastructure & Resource Management), Brandon Paris (Vice President, Soccer, Competitive Philosophy & Technical Advocacy), Dave Kintz (Vice President, Recreation, Community Programs & Grassroots Advocacy), Lisa Bolger (Vice President, Marketing, Brand Stewardship & Community Engagement), Claire Suttle (Treasurer, Fiduciary Stewardship), and Sarah Kurdziel (Secretary, Information & Board Stewardship).
