About

Fusion Volleyball offers a Boys Program, a Girls Program, Summer Camps, 2026-27 Boys Season Tryouts, and Girls Tryouts. The program brings together players, coaches, and families around these volleyball training and team activities.

The leadership team includes Executive Director and original founder Tony D. Lien; Director of Community and Sport Vishal V. Patel; Director of Logistics and Senior Volleyball Ryan K. Takaki; and youth program coordinators Stephanie Seto and Jason Laffer. Tony D. Lien has a background with the Santa Clara County Office of Education, is a USA Volleyball National Team Development Program Coach (formerly High Performance), serves as Volleyball Director at Pioneer High School, and has over 10 years of club and youth sports leadership. Vishal V. Patel has experience as a competitive player and educator, is a former player at Central Coast Volleyball Club, has worked as a teacher and principal at Rocketship Public Schools, and has been a head coach at West Valley Volleyball Club and Tremors Volleyball Club. Ryan K. Takaki is a former player for the San Jose State Club Team, is the current head coach at Leland High School, and has worked as a logistics and packaging professional in the private sector before returning to Fusion. Stephanie Seto has a background in Human Ecology from the University of California, Davis, is an AVCA Thirty Under Thirty Award Nominee, is a former head coach for women’s and men’s programs at Mountain View Volleyball Club (MVVC), served as an assistant coach at Menlo College during their 2019 GSAC Championship season, and has over 17 years of coaching experience across club, high school, and collegiate levels. Jason Laffer has a background in sport science and elite international coaching, has been head coach for Lindesberg Volley in the Swedish Elitserien, statistician for the Australian Women’s National Team (the Volleyroos), is a PhD candidate at James Cook University specializing in the development of competitive youth athletes, and has over 15 years of international club and high-performance sports leadership. Fusion Volleyball’s mission is to create a premier community for volleyball players, coaches, and families, leading with excellence in coaching, integrity in everything they do, and a sense of belonging for everyone, with a vision of turning practice into progress, teammates into a healthy family, and a season into a lifelong love for the game. The program highlights the values of excellence, integrity, and belonging, and states that Fusion is not a place but a people, with a vision of a community where every player, coach, and family belongs, where excellence and character go hand in hand, and where Fusion is known as the place where the game is played the right way. Stephanie Seto’s recognition includes being an AVCA Thirty Under Thirty Award Nominee.
