Youth Experiences includes activities such as ABC’s of Farming, Teen Ambassador, field trips, corporate tours, group workshops, team service days, and community bonding days. The program also offers educational volunteer days and community service hours that take place on a regular weekly schedule.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Educational volunteer days on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
• Price: All the food grown is given to volunteers, program participants, and community members in need for free, and the farm does not sell any produce
Youth Experiences takes place at a community farm that is set up for ample learning and exploring and aims to be a space that is kind, respectful, and welcoming for everyone. Each volunteer session ends with a “harvest party,” and volunteer hours can count toward community service requirements, with the team able to sign off on those hours. The mission of Garden to Table Silicon Valley, which runs Youth Experiences, is to provide inclusive educational experiences rooted in connections to nature, community, and regenerative food systems. Garden to Table Silicon Valley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The farm is open to all and is operated by a team of passionate individuals and community volunteers, and it is funded by volunteers, program participants, community members, and certain grants.
