Journey 2 Learning offers empowerment coaching that focuses on feeling confident, embracing change, overcoming anxiety, and stepping outside of comfort zones, including Rise UP 1:1 coaching that uses their philosophy for increased confidence and self-worth and Level UP Group Coaching with like-minded peers. Step UP Workshops teach the science behind what is blocking a child from reaching their full potential and provide tools to take action. The service area includes San Jose, California, and the surrounding area.
Journey 2 Learning was founded by Sara Cuen. Throughout 20 years of her professional life, Sara has worked with children with ADHD, autism, and other special needs. Sara has a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, both from San Jose State University, and she is certified as a Barton Reading and Spelling tutor. By offering a tutoring service, Sara states that she is able to make a real, tangible difference in the life of young people.
Parent and student feedback about Sara’s work includes comments on her “Fear’s Got Nothing on You” workshop, which one parent described as meaningful and impressive, noting that she presented a step-by-step understanding of the science and purpose of fear in the human brain and encouraged listeners to embrace fear and use it to grow a deeper understanding of themselves. A coaching client reported learning new and eye-opening things in her presentation on fear and expressed a wish to have had this information while growing up. Students Elijah and Jacob described learning to step out of their comfort zones, including trying new activities such as hanging out with new friends, raising a hand to answer questions in class, and trying roller coaster rides they were previously too scared to go on.
