Journey 2 Learning Dyslexia Tutoring offers dyslexia tutoring, reading tutoring, spelling tutoring, and writing tutoring. The program provides tutoring through video chat, as well as in-person sessions that can take place at home, at school, or in a public space such as a library. In addition to tutoring, it offers coaching programs including Rise UP 1:1 coaching, Level UP group coaching, Step UP workshops, and the Fear’s Got Nothing on You workshop.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with 55-minute sessions and a minimum of two visits per week recommended; after-hours and weekend sessions are available by appointment only
Journey 2 Learning Dyslexia Tutoring is led by founder Sara Cuen, who is a learning specialist, youth mindset coach, tutor, and mother of two children with dyslexia. Sara has a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, both from San Jose State University, and she is certified as a Barton Reading and Spelling tutor. Throughout 20 years of her professional life, she has worked with children with ADHD, autism, and other special needs.
The program uses the Barton Reading and Spelling System for dyslexia tutoring, and this system is approved by the California Department of Education. Instruction includes a focus on multisensory teaching for students with dyslexia, and Sara includes social and emotional coaching while implementing an evidence-based reading and spelling solution. The program offers a free initial consultation for tutoring services, flexible scheduling with collaboration with the child’s educators and instructors, and specialized educational and executive functioning support for dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, and autism. Coaching and workshops focus on fear, confidence, self-worth, and empowerment, and the philosophy is guided by five principles about being perfectly imperfect, the power of language, seeing fear as a friend, the importance of beliefs, and personal power.
