Kung Fu Kids® is part of a program whose mission statement is that it is the favorite choice of California families for their childrens' and teens' physical, mental and emotional development. The program is described as schedule focused, with programs created for real family schedules with convenient class times, and as movement based, with kids and adults gaining flexibility, agility, and strength even if they are not athletic. It is described as community positive, with a positive atmosphere where kids learn positive habits and adults make meaningful, lasting friendships, and values oriented, with programs that improve physical prowess and bring mental and emotional benefits to everyday life. The activities are described as structured, with everything intentionally structured based on extensive experience, and as offering full inclusion, with a culture of inclusion and no cliques, no cool kids club, and no unkind actions or attitudes. Programs are described as being designed specifically for the average person, building skills step by step, with a focus on mental health where classes help clear the mind, accomplish goals, and support being more healthy from the inside out.
Wushu Central Martial Arts, which offers Kung Fu Kids®, has received numerous awards, including being nominated “Best Traditional Martial Arts Academy in the United States” by Black Belt Magazine, being voted the “Family Favorite” by other local martial arts academies in Bay Area Parent, and being featured on NBC News, Discovery Channel, Bay Area Parents and many more. The program proudly serves families in San Jose, Palo Alto, Pleasanton, Capitol Expressway, Mountain View and surrounding communities. Member feedback includes comments that coaches and Sifu are thoughtful, caring, and attentive, and that they demonstrate discipline and humility. Another member notes that a child attending for more than a year has fun and learns in every class, and describes Wushu Central as a place for kids and adults to learn a new discipline and meet people.
