About

Kung Fu Kids® offers martial arts training that includes Kung Fu and Karate, along with options for women's self-defense and private lessons. The program also hosts birthday parties where children play games, are entertained, and learn real martial arts moves, as well as Parent's Night Out events as an alternative to finding a babysitter.

• Ages: 2–14 years old

Kung Fu Kids® is part of Wushu Central Martial Arts, which states that its programs are schedule focused, community positive, values oriented, and movement based, with full inclusion. The curriculum is described as designed specifically for the average person, and the Spectrum Stars program is designed to target children on the spectrum with specialized skill-based training for children who have limited physical, intellectual, social, and emotional abilities. The mission statement for Kung Fu Kids® is that it is the favorite choice of California families for their childrens' and teens' physical, mental and emotional development. The program notes a culture of inclusion with no cliques, no “cool kids” club, and no unkind actions or attitudes, and describes a positive atmosphere and programs created for real family schedules.

Wushu Central Martial Arts reports that it has received numerous awards, including being nominated “Best Traditional Martial Arts Academy in the United States” by Black Belt Magazine, being voted the “Family Favorite” by other local martial arts academies in Bay Area Parent, and being featured on NBC News, Discovery Channel, Bay Area Parents, and other outlets. The organization states, “We turn children into successful adults®.”

Parent feedback shared by the program includes one member who reports attending for more than three years and describes the coaches and Sifu as thoughtful, caring, attentive, and demonstrating discipline and humility. Another parent reports that their son has been attending for more than a year, has fun and learns in every class, and that Wushu Central is a place for kids and adults to learn a new discipline and meet people. The program states that it proudly serves San Jose, Palo Alto, Pleasanton, Capitol Expressway, Mountain View, and surrounding communities.
