All coaches at Summer Baseball & Softball Camp are current or former high school, collegiate, or minor league players or coaches, and the program is led by Mike Mak at San Jose Batting Cages. The camp follows the mission of San Jose Batting Cages to provide a fun, positive, educational, and competitive environment and to develop the skills, knowledge, and fundamentals needed to become a successful player. Every week includes a field trip that features San Jose Giants baseball games and a Friday Pizza Party, and the program accepts Go Kids and Choices for Children. Camps are held in an indoor facility due to high summer temperatures, and the equipment is calibrated and maintained weekly. The program notes that families can get summer camps free if an employer offers flex spending accounts for camps or day care, and that flex spending accounts are 100% tax deductible.
